Dementia Cafe Quiz - "Glam Rock" 👨‍🎤

This Dementia Cafe Quiz is all about 'Glam Rock', a music genre of the 1970s. The idea is to match the music clips - a Spotify playlist is provided below - to the images of artists and bands. Then try and name them - the songs and artists and bands.

You could begin by discussing 'Glam Rock' ...

THE LOOK 💅

Glam rock was known for its theatrical and visually striking presentation, with musicians often wearing glittery, colorful, and often androgynous outfits, platform shoes, and elaborate makeup.

THE MUSIC 🎸

While the visual aspect was prominent, 'Glam Rock' also featured catchy, anthemic songs with rock and roll and blues rock elements.

THE ARTISTS & BANDS 👨‍🎤

Here are some of the most influential proponents of 'Glam Rock', with a playlist of their standout tracks from this genre ...

INSTRUCTIONS

You can either start a slide show by clicking on the first photo and playing clips one at a time in the order the pictures and songs are presented. Or, if you want. to mix it up a bit, you could print colour handouts after taking screenshots of the webpage and play the tracks randomly, asking members to link the songs with the pictures.

The aim is for members to name the artists and bands, and the songs. If this is too difficult for some, they coulod just link the songs to the images, or indeed just enjoy the music.

If your group is up for it, some face painting and fancy dress might be in order? Bring costumes, face paints, nail varnish, wigs as you see fit.
