"Our Song" ❤️ Valentine's Day

This CST activity is related to musical memory. In essence it is a 'Name That Tune' game, the idea being that the facilitator plays the first few bars of a song and asks members to guess them. If you print off screenshots as handouts they could also mark them off as they are played.

You could start by asking (perhaps with prior notice) what members favourite love songs are - hopefully some or all of them will be included in the Spotify playlist.

Next you could ask members if they remember the Simon Bates 'Our Tune' feature which ran on his radio show in the 1980s and 90s? And then ask them to name the disc jockeys below. Can they think of any others?

Then you could lay the 'Name That Tune' game, choosing how many rounds to play depending on time. If any members want to hear a full song (you could ask them to raise their hands), you could link to YouTube and play the music video for the song.

You could also ask members to choose one song from each round to ring together, Karaoke style.

Hope you have fun with this CST activity. Please do let me know.
